The Search For Paradise

Within this week, I’m pretty certain that many of us will hit the beaches, resorts, clubs, and other popular tourist destinations. We have in our hands one of the longest vacations on the business calendar – perhaps the best time to have a break and relax a little (well, okay, A LOT).

However, before you pack your bags and put on that suntan lotion, stop for a few seconds and think: are you hitting paradise? Or just another man-made haven that is almost only there for commercial purposes?

Where, really, is paradise?

Now I’m not going to go religious on ya or say anything “preach-y,” but please allow me to share where I think paradise is – thanks to the serendipitous opportunity of watching a popular TV show re-run one of their best episodes, I probably wouldn’t have been able to find paradise myself.

It’s in us. Paradise is in the yearning of those who can’t go where you can; in the minds of everyone who believes that what we have now is also the best period for reflection; and in the inner peace we are able to dig deep within ourselves despite our troubles. Spirituality is not always about religious devotions.

So, when you finally arrive at wherever it is you’re heading, I challenge you to search for your paradise.
